According to their website, POSitive Software says "What really sets POSitive for Windows apart are the extended features not available in any other software.
Let's take a look at these features, shall we?
The Basic version, which retails at a network price of $1499.00, does what pretty much every other piece of POS software does: Tracks inventory and invoices customers.
However, the professional version is rather impressive. It includes feature rich modules such as e-commerce integration, marketing modules, commission tracking, contract pricing, ad hoc searching, multi-tier pricing support and more.
The site is rather unclear, on modules. At first glance, it appears as if the Professional version contains ALL modules. Upon closer look, it seems that their are a wide variety of packages - from bundled packages to independent addon modules.
From the screenshots on their website, it POSitive appears to have an easy to use interface, similar to earlier windows applications. This is an asset to users who are not computer savvy but familiar enough with a basic windows interface.
One thing POSitive has going against them is they don't provide a fullscale integrated solution. They would do well to create packaged hardware/software combinations.
On their website, they have testimonials from satisfied clients, all of whom had been through 3 or more different software providers. It's hard to tell if these are honest testimonials or simply marketing gloss. If you are serious about your business, it wouldn't heard to take them for a test run.
