Coffee Shops and POS
On this website we have discussed using point of sale systems in
stores, restaurants, and even discussed sub topics for bars about
liquor inventory management.
Coffee
shops are undoubtedly one of the more popular small businesses in
America, and the failure rate is staggering. Finding good employees,
keeping your overhead low, and keeping your books in the black are
justsome of the difficult tasks faced by coffee shop owners.
Using
a POS system can help you generate reports that identify your best
selling drinks, your repeat customers, and the busiest times of the
day. You can use this info to reduce labor costs by scheduling your
workers according to these reports, while keep idle time to a minimum.
Many
coffee shops also sell products on a consignment basis, and using a
Point of Sale system will help you accurately track all of these items,
which can return solid profits, while indicating which products do not
sell at all.
While I don't like to endorse any one particular
item, I did read a recent success article by a vendor who provided a
POS solution to a
coffee shop in Denver, Colorado.
